EIF Programų sistemos studijų programos II kurso studento Giorgi Tabatadze Erasmus studijos Portugalijoje.
„From the 1st of September 2024 to the 16th of February 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in a Erasmus+ mobility program at Universidade Portucalense – Infante D. Henrique in Porto, Portugal. This invaluable experience not only enriched my academic knowledge but also allowed me to immerse myself in a different cultural and social environment. The warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by the hosting university and country made the transition easy and satisfying.
My studies at Universidade Portucalense were both challenging and immensely rewarding. The curriculum was rigorous, designed to push students beyond their comfort zones, which significantly enhanced my ability to manage complex academic tasks and maintain discipline. The professors and academic staff were highly supportive and always ready to offer guidance. Through hard work and dedication, I gained a deep understanding of my field of study and developed critical skills that will benefit me in my future endeavours. I particularly appreciated the interactive and practical learning methods employed, which encouraged participation and hands-on application of theoretical concepts.
Living in Porto offered me an incredible opportunity to explore Portuguese culture and traditions. The city’s rich history, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop for cultural immersion. I attended local events, tasted traditional Portuguese cuisine, and visited iconic landmarks, such as the Ribeira district and Livraria Lello.
Interacting with fellow international and local students played a big role in my personal growth. I was part of a diverse student community, which enabled me to learn about different cultures, languages, and viewpoints. These connections have laid the foundation for lifelong friendships and a strong global network.
Adapting to a new academic environment and country came with its challenges, but all these ultimately contributed to my self-reliance. Balancing academics with social activities and exploring a new city required effective time management and prioritization.
Additionally, being part of an international academic program encouraged me to view the world from a broader perspective, cultivating a mindset of curiosity and openness. This mobility experience has inspired me to pursue future opportunities that involve cross-cultural collaboration and international exposure.
I am particularly thankful to European Commission for making this experience possible, as well as to the dedicated teams at Vilniaus kolegija (VIKO) and Universidade Portucalense (UPT) for their invaluable support and guidance throughout my journey.
Looking ahead, I am enthusiastic about participating in another Erasmus program in the near future. This experience has fueled my passion for academic and cultural exchange, and I am eager to embrace new challenges, further broaden my horizons, and continue my journey of growth through international collaboration.“
